The history of the Abatan River serves as the chief drainage system of the Abatan Watershed and is one of the three main rivers of Bohol. It used to be the main waterway of the people when the roads were still undeveloped. The Abatan Life River Tour highlights the life of the Boholanos. The three-hour tour will take guests to lush greeneries, bushes, trees, and other sceneries the river has to offer. The tour has five pit stops representing the five communities along the stretch. Each stop will entertain guests through live cultural shows and performances by the residents themselves.

HOW TO GET THERE


Located 10kms (a 10-15 min. drive) from Tagbilaran City Seaport or Airport and 45 kms (a 30-40 min. drive) from tubigon seaport.

Bohol is known for its many ecotourism attractions. But if you truly want to experience the culture of Bohol, the Alburquerque Calamay Manufacture Tour is a good option.
During the trip, you will only taste Bohol’s famed delicacy but also observe the tedious and heartwarming process of crafting calamay. Calamay is a famous delicacy in any part of the country and is known for its different versions.

HOW TO GET THERE

Approximately Alburquerque is 12 kms from the main Tagbilaran City. In going there you can ride a van which cost 100 pesos per person or public utility jeepney which cost is 15 pesos per person.

Every tourist is welcome to create their first made calamay. However the ecotour would only limit around 30 individuals per workshop in making calamay.

Nestled in the heart of Loay in Bohol, the Clarin Ancestral House is not your typical 2-storey square house. This majestic ancestral home stands with a strong influence of Bohol’s past. The Clarin Ancestral House is a Filipino-Spanish designed residence built during the 1840s. The house was built with coral stone foundations, roughly hewn wooden posts, polished wooden floorboards, and wood plank walls; thus bahay (balay) table. Today, the house stands as a famous museum in Bohol. It displays a collection of  the Clarin’s family’s significant memorabilia.

The San Vicente Mangrove Forest Association (SAVIMA), is a community life tour ecperience focused on sustainable tourism activities such as home-stays (staying with the locals), livelihood demonstrations (like mangrove planting, gathering shells (“imbao”) or catch snapping shrimps (“takla”), and a one-day eco-tourism mangrove adventure package. The 500-meter SAVIMA Mangrove Boardwalk was a community project acquired and applied for by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in 1999 covering the entire 56.25 hectares of mangrove forest.

Ever wondered where the raffia bag came from? Have you asked yourself how the colorful looms are weaved together in such a very beautiful way or how the patterns are being mixed and matched? Most times, the best experience one can have is knowing how their favorite items are made and knowing who made them. Loom weaving is considered a major source of income for the local residents of Tubigon. For many weavers, wives of farmers and fisherfolks in Tubigon, loom weaving has been their major source of bread and butter.
